Patient Safety Awareness Week: March 14 – 20
To truly feel cared for by a medical professional. To be able to heal. To feel trust towards those watching over us.
When something goes wrong, when we don’t feel well, we need to feel safe.
March 14-20 is Patient Safety Awareness Week.
Although there have been great strides in patient safety over the decades, there is still work to do on the problem of keeping people safe when they seek medical care.
According to The Institute for Healthcare Improvement, some studies suggest that as many as 400,000 deaths occur in the United States each year as a result of errors or preventable harm. Also, not every case of harm results in death but, it can have a long-term impact on the patient’s physical health, emotional health, financial well-being, or family relationships.¹
Safety is a priority for us here at Graham-Field. We are committed to providing the highest quality healthcare products available. As such, we have been awarded the world-class ISO 13485:2016 certificate for operating standards.² Yes, we are proud to offer quality products and equipment to the healthcare industries.
As we all slowly step out of the pandemic, we are so grateful to our health heroes in the medical profession!
Each of these dedicated professionals works hard to provide their patients the best possible care. Let’s work alongside them to raise awareness regarding patient safety by educating ourselves, our families, and others on the importance of patient safety.
